Diagnosis doesn’t matter - we just care about the individual.
We are not a physical provision - we are a tailored educational solution for students who are awaiting a specialist placement in school, but cannot manage in their current placement. We provide a personalised experience for students, using our “Engage, Explore, Excel” curriculum stages.
Working with students wherever they feel most comfortable, we bring a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience to help students to re-establish their sense of themselves as learners. Student-led, we work at a pace that suits our pupils and we actively engage with families and carers to provide an holistic service.
ENGAGE
This stage supports students to build a positive and trusting relationship with at least one adult from our team.
We start from the student’s interests and work at their pace to ensure they feel secure, respected and valued.
EXPLORE
Our second stage, this encourages students to explore the world around them and basic learning skills and experiences, to develop their confidence in areas identified as challenging for them.
These areas might include, leaving their home, going into shops, talking to adults, putting pen to paper or trying to learn new things.
EXCEL
Our third stage is designed to equip students with the strategies, skills and confidence they need to consider returning to a more formal learning environment.
This includes reading, writing and number skills, personal organisation skills, and the ability to advocate for themselves.
We never rush students through these stages.
It’s their journey. It’s our privilege to be part of it.
